That is not a link to the current map version @O.Lee, i.e. "Europe 1" file excludes much of Europe including Germany etc.
Use the "Europe 1" file at https://webspecial.volkswagen.de/vwinfotainment/int/en/index/downloads#/
when you get there click "learn more", click "Tiguan" (from 2017), click "Discover Media", click "Download European Countries - Bundle 1"
The file you download will 13 TB, the file on Seat website is 6 TB, the 1st release of this file was screwed up by VW/Their map contractor and has been re-released

I read in this forum that I can use the updated map from Seat (I downloaded "1115_MP181-1266.xEUR_DL1.zip"), but I can also download the map from volkswagen, which is more updated ("DiscoverMedia2_EU_DL2_1120_V10.7z"), unzip it in my original SD card and then copy back in the SD card the original file "OVERALL.NDS" previously backed up.

Can you please confirm these procedures, and that I can go with the more updated map from volkswagen?

Also, there is no way to use another SD card, I must use the original one right?

Hi,
The 'Discover Pro' media system is the VW equivalent of the SEAT 'Navigation System Plus, it has a SSH (hard) drive instead of SD card slot(s) so presumably is updated and stored differently.

I upgraded using the VW maps for the Discover Media system in the weekend and had no problem updating to v1115.

Yes. Just make sure you swap over the correct OVERALL.NDS file over. It's the one in the EEC/ EEC.WLD folder.

Issue:

I copied my original SD card files over to my hard drive - copied the main 'Maps' folder which had an '00' and an 'EEC' folder, and I checked the copied over file afterwards and the OVERALL.NDS file was definitely there.

After then formatting my SD Card and downloading and copying over the latest VW map file, then went to copy back the OVERALL.NDS file and the WHOLE 'EEC' folder has disappeared from my backed up 'Maps' folder!! (Done a search if whole hard drive and it's nowhere to be seen).

Can anyone advise a way to remedy this? (Can I download an earlier SEAT map version to create this, and if so where from?) Or am I stuck now and unable to get my Ateca to recognise the new maps without my own, original OVERALL.NDS file?

I used the VW site Tiguan left hand unit Full Europe copied the file over as stated earlier.MAPS/EEC/EEC_WLD/OVERALL.NDS to your SD card. Worked for me.

Sadly i think you're up a creek. I think the feeling is that each OVERALL.NDS contains something specific to either your car or the your SD card

I haven't actually done the upgrade yet thou I've prepared a copy on HD ready

I did notice that windows aborted the copy for unknown reason a couple of times and had I not done a right click properties on both the SD maps and the backup maps copy I won't have noticed that the number of directories/folders wasn't the same.

Seems odd that a entire directory should disappear thou, not in your recycle bin is it ?

I think this is what might have happened somehow with my PC - no, its not in the recycle bin or anywhere else :-(

I'll get onto my dealer and explain 'user error' and see if they can restore me to the original setting - I've not had the car a year yet so hopefully should be do-able.

Can someone tell what is the best way to upgrade my Sat Nav on my 2017 Ateca. Need the version that shows the new Queensferry Crossing. My system is Navi Teck 6 PO.

Thanks Rory. I've emailed my dealer this morning and he has already quickly responded saying he'll look into it and come back to me. I've asked whether they can (preferably) locate my specific original OVERALL.NDS file if this is held anywhere and then email it to me, or failing that, can I go to them and get a reinstall of the original Sat Nav files (or a fresh latest version).

My fingers are crossed and I'll report back.
