It does copy a .png file into the root which is a system menu picture, I deleted it and no problems
So current Maps are Version 1115 until next year

Hi bedlam thanks for the link I am currently downloading the file. How do I use it to update my SD Card? Also how do I delete the png file and do I do that before updating?

1. Backup your SD Card to your PC (maybe 2 backups)
2. Unzip the file to your SD Card I linked to
3. Copy the file MAPS/EEC/EEC_WLD/OVERALL.ND to your SD Card
4. That should be enough, then insert SD Card into vehicle
p,s. I just happened to notice the .png file, it may not be relevant

Hi Bedlam Just a quick check after unzipping the files the only one file I copy across is maps/EEC/EEC_WLD OVERALL.NDS to replace the same file on the previous version is that correct?
Pity I wasn't a Doctor!!! :lol:

Hi Bedlam just tried my updated SD Card and it will not read it. I backed up my original card copied the new file to the backed up files and rather than use the original SEAT SD I transferred the files to a new SD Card do I have to use the original one?
The file I replaced was only 15kb have I selected the correct one? Thanks

From what I have read on here you have to use the original SD card

The reason is that windows only shows you un-hidden partitions - the SD card (or any hard-disk for that matter) may have multiple partitions (drives) not all of which are visible, so in effect you will likely have not copied these other partition(s) and there files from the original SD card

thanks Paul.Cambs That makes sense I was trying to avoid using the original card as when I compare the update files to those on the original it is half the size with some files on the original not contained in the update. The majority appear to be country specific and may or may not be important, hence my reluctance to use the original SD even though I have it backed up. Probably going to have to bite the bullet.

You have to use the original card as Paul stated, it is "linked" to your vehicle

So I replace the maps folder on my original SD Card with the map folder I have already downloaded I then copy the file MAPS/EEC/EEC_WLD/OVERALL.NDS from my original SD Card backup and we're good to go

Yes, I noticed the map file is considerably smaller. Anyone had any issues with it?

This is a departure from the norm.
I am experimenting with other download files to try to include France, Germany, Switzerland, Italy and more

Hi Bedlam,
I followed your instructions (thank you!) and now have the 1115 maps available to me.
I tried a route from home to Calais and it was able to create the route, are you sure that France is not included in the 1115 download?

Select Tiguan, 2017, Discover Media (NOT Pro) for SEAT MIB2 Standard maps.

You'll find the old Bundle 1 (many countries) and all of the the new bundles with contents as specified (bundle dates are reverse/US format!)

I can confirm that Europe Bundle 5 (which also appears to be Version 1120) works in a 2017 Ateca and a 2018 Leon, using the update methods widely discussed....
